Identity Theft Detection & Recovery Services
Notice of Changes to Account
Sno Falls Credit Union would like to make you aware of an important new feature coming to your Rewards Checking account. Our Board of Directors and Management have made a decision to expand our security program to include new services for our credit union, including new identity theft detection and recovery services for our Rewards Checking account as a whole, beginning November 1, 2016.
The dramatic rise in data breach activities and the annual escalation of identity theft victims has caused us to evaluate solutions to better protect our valued members and Sno Falls Credit Union. Many of you may have already received breach notifications from major retailers of other companies. The IRS is facing epidemic problems with billions of dollars stolen with false tax returns over the past few years. Technology changes are making individuals and businesses more vulnerable to ID theft and breach events and we cannot afford to ignore the signs of greater threats in the future.
We have decided to implement stronger measures to safeguard your account against these growing dangers we are all facing. In addition to the high quality services Sno Falls Credit Union currently provides, we are pleased to add new identity theft detection and recovery services to all Rewards Checking accounts. More information about your new account services can be found on the reverse of this letter, and complete terms and conditions of the services can be found on our website.
After careful consideration to offset these and other security-related costs, beginning December 1, 2016 we will be implementing a $4.95 monthly maintenance fee for our Rewards Checking account. However, if you meet any of the following criteria or if you have any of the accounts listed below this fee will be waived:
o Meet Rewards Checking criteria
o Credit Card
o Auto Loan
o Boat / Recreational Vehicle Loan
o Signature Loan
o Personal Loan
o Home Equity Loan / LOC
o Mortgage Loan
o Youth 18 years of age or younger
o 65 years of age or older
We understand that identity fraud is a growing problem, affecting more than 13.1 million people last year.* There is no way to prevent identity fraud 100% of the time, and Sno Falls believes it is extremely important to have these new identity theft detection and recovery services available to you and your family. These services become effective November 1, 2016.
If you have questions about this letter, the monthly maintenance fee or the Identity Theft Protection service, please do not hesitate to contact us at (425) 888-4004. Thank you for your continued membership.
